Description

This is a copy negative, created in 1989 from an original print of circa 1890, also held in this collection (see OP18670). The precise location of Chestnut House cannot currently be confirmed. There is some speculation that the overmantel pictured was taken from the Old Palace of Bromley, as the sculpture seems to date from the same period and this piece shows motifs very similar to those on the fireplace in the first-floor north-west room of the palace.
