Description

The hospital was planned as the second 'Hampshire County Asylum', with the site being acquired in 1899. Construction began in 1913 and was completed in 1917. The hospital was used as the Number Four Canadian General Hospital until 1919. It was re-opened in 1921 as 'Park Prewett Mental Hospital', later 'Park Prewett Psychiatric Hospital'. From 1948 it was known as Park Prewett Hospital. The hospital closed in 1997.
