Description

The fifth 'Middlesex County Asylum' or 'Middlesex County Pauper Lunatic Asylum' opened in 1893. It was later known as 'Claybury Asylum' and was renamed 'Claybury Mental Hospital' in 1930. By 1959 it was known as Claybury Hospital. The hospital closed in 1997.
