Description

Dating from 1210, the church is popularly known as 'Shakespeare's Church', as the grave of William Shakespeare and his wife Ann Hathaway is situated in the chancel.

A note on the reverse of this print's mount reads 'ph=Bedford?' which indicates that a previous holder of this print believed that the image could have been photographed by Francis Bedford. The print was received from Leicester Museum and Art Gallery on the 1st of November 1956.

This is a copy negative, created from the original print in 1962.
