This engraving may depict the first manned hydrogen balloon flight by Jacques Charles and Nicolas-Louis Robert, who lanuched from the Tulleries, Paris on 1st December 1783. This slide was used in Cecil Victor Shadbolt's lecture 'Balloons and Ballooning, Upward and Onwards'
