Tethered balloon flights were regularly undertaken at Crystal Palace, however this image is believed to be the earliest known surviving aerial photograph of the building itself.This slide was used in Cecil Victor Shadbolt's lecture 'Balloons and Ballooning, Upward and Onwards'
