The first London and South Western Railway (LSWR) station in Salisbury was Milford station which opened on the east side of the city in 1847, The station shown here was opened by the LSWR in 1859 and extended in circa 1902. It was built just to the south of the Great Western Railway (GWR) station on Fisherton Road which dates from 1856. In 1932 GWR passenger services were transferred from the GWR station to this station.
