Description

The station was built in 1844 for the South Eastern Railway, and opened at the same time as the line. It consists of a single storey station building, situated on the south platform, a signal box and two staggered platforms divided by a level crossing. The signal box is situated to the west of the station building, and has a square timber storey positioned on a raised base. It controls the level crossing.
