Description

The tunnel entrance has a segmental arch with yellow brick surrounds, and above is a yellow brick parapet. Ipswich station was built in 1860 in order to replace the original terminus of the Ipswich and Bury Railway, Stoke Station. It opened in 1846 with the island platform added in 1883.
