Description

The viaduct was built 1848-1850 by A. Rendel and Thomas Brassey for Birkenhead, Lancashire and Cheshire Junction Railway Co. The two spans over the river have segmental arches of cast iron, and the piers are rusticated ashlar. To the west are two round arches, and to the east are 21 arches, all with rusticated voussoirs.
