Reconstruction portrait of a Roman gallus, based on the human remains and jet jewellery excavated from Grave 951 at Site 46, Bainesse Farm, Catterick (Roman Cataractonium). A gallus was a Roman transvestite eunoch and Priest of the Goddess Cybele.
