Description

Built in 1904 for the Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway at the insistance of one of the shareholders, Sir Thomas Wardle of the nearby Sainsley Hall so as to preserve the view. The railway served the copper mines at Ecton Hill to the north and ran from Hulme End to Waterhouses until 1934.
