CUDDINGTON C.P. WARRINGTON ROAD SJ 67 SW (East Side) 4/30 Abbotsford 15/6/1979
Formerly large house, now divided into 3: dated 1890 by John Douglas for Jabez S Thompson, salt magnate of Northwich. English garden wall bond. Ruabon red brick, Lakeland slate roof, brick chimneys with moulded cornices or octagonal stacks. Irregular plan. 2 and 3-storey, 5 bay front of irregular masses. The 2nd and 3rd bays of 3 storeys project under a gable and has to the front a 1-storey porch with moulded basket-arched entrance and a terracotta date plaque under a pediment above. Mullioned and mullioned and transomed windows with depressed ogee heads with sill bands and flat hood moulds. Plastered diapering in gable. Right end bay also projects under a gable and has a 4-light mullioned and transomed and a 4-light mullioned window. The bay between has a band of diapering and a continuous line of windows in both storeys.
