House to left end of, and at a right-angle to, The Terrace (qv). Late C18. Render over rubblestone, hipped slate roof with 2 brick stacks to rear. 2-unit plan with central stairhall and C19 wing to the left. 3 storeys with attic and basement; symmetrical 3-window range.

Forward frames to 3/6-pane sash windows to the second floor and 6/6 panes to the rest. Large late C19 canted bays flank a classical-style doorcase with broken pediment and ornamented fanlight to a 6-panel door with raised and fielded panels. Parapet to facade and bays. Alcombe House terminates the left end of The Terrace (qv); Alcombe Hall (qv) terminates it to the right. The mid C19 two-storey wing to the rear left, now Mulberry Cottage, has a variety of windows including four tripartite sashes. INTERIOR: The ground floor retains 6-panel doors and architraves. An open well, open-string staircase extends to the attic, it has stick balusters, fretted ends, a swept mahogany rail and turned newels. The upper floors have late C19 four-panel doors and some late C19 fireplaces. The basement is stone-flagged with steps and a door to the C19 service wing. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: a rubblestone wall approx 4m high and 40m long is attached to the rear left of the left wing.
