5/224 Laundry Cottage - GV II

House. C19. Stone rubble with slate roof with gabled ends. Rendered chimneys on ridge. Brick dressings. 2 storeys. 4 window asymmetrical front. Gabled porch with bargeboarding on front at right, further entrance through half-glazed door on front at left. 4 ground floor windows 3-light casements with diagonal glazing bars. 2 first floor windows on front at left 2-light casements, 2 windows on front at right 3-light casements, 2 panes per light. Deep eaves. Cottage situated at the end of Sir Thomas Acland's Wharf on the Bude canal. House formerly known as Round's Casting House. Helen Harris and Monica Ellis, The Bude Canal, (1972), p.105.
