WOKINGHAM MARKET PLACE SU 8168 NW (West side) 18/35 Nos 7 & 8 (Roebuck Public House) 12.11.51 G.V. II House, now public house and wine shop. C16 altered and extended late C18 and C20. Part timber framed, part brick; old tiled gabled roof.
U-plan, 2 framed bays at rear on north side. 2 storeys and cellar.
One chimney on right adjoining gable of No.6, (listed separately) other chimney at rear and at end of timber framed section. One chimney rendered at rear of left section. 3 bay front with central yard entry. No.7 has large upper window within painted brick wall, and C20 shop front. No.8 (The Roebuck) has 2 sash windows with glazing bars on first floor; 2 late C20 sash windows with glazing bars on ground floor, C20 door on left, yard entry on right, all framed with pilasters, frieze and cornice.
