Seaside hotel; 1900 dated on plaques under eaves in bays 2 and 4. Rendered and painted brick, Welsh slate roof with 4 tall corniced ridge stacks, that to south end having lesenes running up through gable ends. Modified English Renaissance style. 3-storey, 4-bay front, the left bay, canted round corner, has pierced parapet. Bays 2 and 4 are gabled with blank lunettes holding rampant lions. Similar lunette crowns wider recessed 3rd bay with 5 single windows on each floor. Bands of relief ornament between floors form balconies in this bay. Panelled door with fanlight under 3-centred arch flanked by narrow windows. 3-centred-arched windows to ground floor of bays 2 and 4. Other windows are 3-and 6-light with mullions and transoms. Quasi- Ionic columns support eaves cornice. Lounge bar, to right of entrance, retains heavily-moulded ceiling cornice and original bar fittings. Later singles 2-and 3-storey extensions to rear are not of interest.
