STEEPLE ASHTON CHURCH STREET ST 95 NW (off north side) 7/218 Ball and Mitchell monuments in the churchyard between 19 and 22m north of Church of St Mary the Virgin GV II

Two chest tombs. Late C18. Limestone. Tombs of similar design, two shield-shaped fielded panels, Mitchell tomb has fielded and fluted pilasters, Ball tomb has foliage-carved pilasters, both with moulded flat tops. Inscription on Mitchell tomb partly illegible.

Inscription on Ball tomb to George Ball died 1778.
