Statue. 1911 by W Goscombe John. Ashlar and bronze. 4-step circular podium.

Circular plinth. Console brackets on roll-moulded plinths set diagonally to flank 4 bronze panels giving name of figure, coats of arms and date of erection. Moulded cornice. Bronze figure of Thomas Sutton in period costume holding scroll (?foundation charter).

Thomas Sutton founded the school in London in 1611.
