7/125 Parford Well

Well house. Dated 1872. Granite ashlar. Square in plan with a low pitch pyramid roof the well house faces south-east onto the road. The front contains a doorway in a 2 centred arch which contains a cast iron door with ornate strap hinges and bolt.

Immediately above the arch is a recessed Maltese cross. Above that an inscription in plain upper and lower case lettering records the erection of the well house "free to villagers of Sandypark for domestic purposes". It is dated 1872 with the initials WRB.
