Shop with flat over. Early C19 with possible earlier origins. Timber-framed with painted brick front and hipped plain tile roofs. PLAN: main block is approx square in plan form with roof parallel to High Street and 2 adjoining roofs at right-angles to the rear. Long extension wing forming south-west boundary of rear garden. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with cellar; 3-window range. Front has plain parapet and tripartite sash windows on 1st floor, each with one vertical glazing bar and flat-arched head. The ground floor has early C19 shop front and fascia with 6 consoles and later blind box; central recessed doorway with double doors, panelled reveals and square fanlight of 2 horizontal lights; windows either side with thin flanking pilasters and of 3 lights with central transom. High plinth and boarded cellar access under south-west shop window. Rendered rear elevation of main block has one 12-pane and one 8-pane sash window on 1st floor and iron escape staircase. Ground floor has early C19 rear door and tripartite small-paned sash window. Small lean-to with slate roof. Rear wing has gabled plain tile roof and three 12-pane sash windows on 1st floor of north-east flank. The ground floor here has one small-paned tripartite sash, a 12-pane and an 8-pane sash, and 2 doors. INTERIOR: the ground floor of shop has modillioned cornice of painted timber. On 1st floor, one room has plaster cornice and in rear room is an early C19 marble fireplace. The cellar has a floor over of reused C16 moulded timbers. The front block is an early C19 timber-framed structure substantially of reused timber.
