SADDLEWORTH BLEAK HEY NOOK SE 00 NW 4/8 Well Croft and - Well Croft House G.V. II 2 houses. Said to date from 1768 but of 2 builds, and each house has large C20 addition to its gable. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Double- depth 3-storey house originally of 1 bay but with a second added in late C18. The earlier house (eastern-most) has quoins and 6, 7, and 6-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows; the other has 4 and 5-light windows as above. Kneelers and gable chimney stack. The roadside elevation has a small lean-to, three 3-light and a 5-light window and a blocked taking-in door. C20 extensions obscure the gables. Included for group value.
