Work began in February 1959 on a new factory for T. Walls and Sons Limited on a 30 acre site at Barnwood. The £2 million project comprised buildings including the production block, workshops, offices, a canteen, boiler house, cold store, water tower, and engineers' shop. A cropped version of this photograph was published in the September 1960 edition of 'Team Spirit', the Laing newsletter. The caption below this photograph reads: "WALLS FACTORY, GLOUCESTER.
