Work began in February 1959 on a new factory for T. Walls and Sons Limited on a 30 acre site at Barnwood. The £2 million project comprised buildings including the production block, workshops, offices, a canteen, boiler house, cold store, water tower, and engineers' shop. The caption below this photograph in the album reads: "WALLS FACTORY, GLOUCESTER. Production Building 1st Floor, No.1 and 2 Vanmar Tanks viewed from the Water Ice Mezzanine (looking south)."
