Work began on the construction of a new runway at Gaydon Airfield in early 1952. This was followed by a second contract for the construction of more than 100 Easiform and Air Ministry buildings. 23 Nissen huts and extensive renovations and extensions to existing buildings was also included in the contract.
This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
