This photograph is part of a batch taken during the restoration of the opencast mining site. Mining had concluded at Lowfields Lane O.C.C.S on 28th February 1953 after 100 weeks of coal being extracted from the site.
This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
