Description

In 1947, after a seven year break, Laing had resurrected their 'Area Outings' for staff and their families, with trips taking place in May and June. Eight outings were arranged to take place in May and June 1955, the first two of which was held on 14th May, to Weston-Super-Mare and to Bognor Regis. This outing was for Laing employees from the Southern England region, including Burghfield, Calcot Row, Crawley, Stevenage, Reading, Welwyn and Windsor. This photograph was published in the July 1955 edition of 'Team Spirit', the Laing employee newsletter.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
