Description

The caption beneath the corresponding album print reads '(...) The excavated material is then hauled a distance of about 7 miles over existing roads to A2 Section. The three cuts under the railway, for the abutments and centre pier of the proposed bridge, were made during three week-end occupations'. Section A of the M1 is between Pepperstock and Ridgmont in Bedfordshire.
