Description

The machine is laying an asphalt topping course to the roadway. Section A of the M1 is between Pepperstock and Ridgmont in Bedfordshire. The caption beneath the corresponding album print states this is at 'chainage 38,000 (Beds).'

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
