Description

Work began in February 1959 on a new factory for T. Walls and Sons Limited on a 30 acre site at Barnwood. The £2 million project comprised buildings including the production block, workshops, offices, a canteen, boiler house, cold store, water tower, and engineers' shop. The photograph also shows a conveyor belt is in the foreground and the Water Ice Mezzanine in the background.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
