Description

At the time this photograph was taken King's College in Newcastle Upon Tyne was part of the University of Durham. In 1963, King's College became the University of Newcastle and the Physics Building was subsequently named the Herschel Building. The building was designed by Sir Basil Spence and was built by Laing.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
