Description

This gravel pit is believed to have been located at SJ8538340440. In Laing's monthly newsletter Team Spirit, May 1961, a large disused gravel pit at Trentham Park was mentioned. The site was being developed and it was hoped that the gravel pit would provide granular material for the sub-base and base of the motorway.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
