Work began on the Walsgrave Hospital project in 1963 and the building work was completed in late 1968. It was replaced by the University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire on the same site and was demolished in 2007. The area is now largely occupied by the new hospital's carpark and Facilities Management building. The only visible structure that remains is the concrete fountain at the centre of the entrance roundabout that conceals a storm water pumping station.
