Description

Willoughby Hall was built by Laing for the University of Nottingham to accommodate female students. It is in a L-shaped building comprising of two blocks of three and five storeys and was the first hall at the university to be built in reinforced concrete. In March 1964, an article in the Laing monthly newsletter 'Team Spirit' describes the building as having 155 study bedrooms, a dining room, library, common rooms, a shampoo room equipped on the lines of a hairdressing salon and three laundries.
