At the time this photograph was taken, S E Jones was the Manager of Laing's Andover 12M Jespersen Factory. He originally joined the company in 1937 when he worked for Holloways (taken over by Laing) after graduating from Cambridge with a BA in Mechanical Services. In the same year this photograph was taken he moved to the Civil Engineering Division where he continued to work until his retirement in 1978.
This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
