Description

Work at Ansells Brewery in Aston began in November 1968. Two contracts, the 'Phase One' building and the conditioning centre, ran alongside each other. The fifteen 22,000 gallon conditioning tanks were prefabricated in London and were lifted into position at the brewery using a mobile crane. The date of this photograph is uncertain: the transcribed register indicates that it was taken on 29th April 1969 while an article in Laing's Team Spirit newsletter mentions that lifting of the tanks took place on 11th, 21st and 28th April.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
