Description

Laing's Manchester Region had contracts to build 1200 homes for the County Borough of Stockport. At Lancashire Hill, they had previously built two 22-storey blocks of flats using Storiform, providing 198 homes, and the housing scheme shown in this photo consisting of six linked blocks of four to eight storeys, had been built using Laing's 12M Jespersen system, grouped around three courtyards including two children's playgrounds and a lawned area with flower beds and shrubbery.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
