Description

This photograph is part of a batch showing work carried out by Laing's Highways Branch during the construction of part of the Potteries D Road or Stoke D Road on the A500. A 6.5km stretch of dual carriageway running from near Talke to Etruria in Stoke-on-Trent was constructed by the company, with work starting in October 1970.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
