Description

In the negative register for the collection, Laing refer to this building as the Life Science Block, but on maps of the time it appears to have been officially known as the Department of Psychology. It was designed by the architect William Whitfield who won a Civic Trust Commendation for its design, and it was built by the North East Region of Laing's Construction Company.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
