Description

This photograph was published in the October 1974 edition of 'Team Spirit', the Laing employee newsletter. The new employees shown in the photograph were pupils and students who had newly joined the company. The group were given a tour of the St Thomas' Hospital site, on which Laing were constructing four new blocks as Phase II of a project consisting of three phases. Phase I had been completed in 1966 by Sir Robert McAlpine and Sons, Phase II began in early 1969, and Phase III was planned to start in 1975.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
