Description

Laing constructed a new building for the general hospital in Sunderland between 1974 and 1978. The new building was part of a plan to centralise the previous hospital buildings. It was formed of three blocks with three entrance levels across a sloping site.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
