Description

The ceremony was attended by ambassadors of Islamic countries who form the London Central Mosque Trust, including Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Turkey and Sudan. They are seen in the photograph watching the presentation of the key to the chairman of the trust, Nadim Dimechkie. Also in attendance was the architect Sir Frederick Gibberd who presented Nadim Dimechkie with an album of photographs and drawings of the project, prior to the handing over of the keys.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
