Description

Due to the number of guests, the topping out ceremony for the Harrogate Conference Centre could not take place on the roof of the building. The ceremony was instead performed inside the auditorium at the highest point, which was the top tier of seating. The Mayor of Harrogate, Mrs Angela Matthews, led the ceremony accompanied by Joe Bentley, the Conference Centre's architect, and Leslie Holiday, then managing director of the construction company.
