Description

In 1977 Degremont Laing were contracted to construct a reverse osmosis plant at Lindsey Oil Refinery. Reverse Osmosis is a process for purifying water using a partially permeable membrane which removes unwanted ions, molecules and particles. The process is commonly used to remove salt and other materials from seawater for drinking water.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
