Hamilton's Council Offices were opened by the Queen Mother on April 14th 1964, a few days after this photograph was taken. The 17 storey building, designed by David Bannerman of the County Architect's Department, is constructed of reinforced concrete and glass. In 1993 it was granted listed building status.
