Description

The Fawley Esso Oil Refinery in Hampshire was first opened in 1951 by the British Prime Minister Clement Attlee. The Laing Company worked on the construction of an administration building and reservoir at the site in the 1950s. In the late 1970s to 1980s, they returned to carry out construction work for the Fawley Treatment Plant.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
