Description

Starting in 1981, widening work was carried out on the M1 between Junctions 5 (South Watford) and Junction 8 (Hemel Hempstead). The road passing under the motorway in the foreground of this image is Bedmond Lane.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
