Description

Starting in 1981, widening work was carried out on the M1 between Junction 5 (South Watford) and Junction 8 (Hemel Hempstead). The bridge in the forefront of this image carries the A4147 over the M1, whereas the bridge behind is an overbridge for the M10 (now the A414). Beechtree Lane passes under the M10 on the right of this image.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
