Phase II of the Eastgate Shopping Centre was built by Laing's South Eastern Region with work starting in April 1982. The shopping centre consisting of a 10-storey block and a 5-storey block of office and shopping accommodation included an Allders department store at one end of a covered mall, a store for C&A and 70 shop units.
This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
