Description

The sponsored walk and foundation stone unveiling ceremony took place at the new rehabilitation unit, known as the Mike Heaffey Sports Centre, with the charity walk raising £25,000. The stone was laid by Sir Mark Weinberg of Allied Dunbar along with Andrew Walker, architectural adviser for ASPIRE, the Association for Spinal Injury Research Rehabilitation and Reintegration. The contract to complete the building to shell stage was carried out by Laing's Chiltern Region.

This image was catalogued as part of the Breaking New Ground Project in partnership with the John Laing Charitable Trust in 2019-20.
